HDFEST also gives out the annual HDFEST Deffie awards recognizing achievement in HD independent filmmaking. Award categories include The HDFEST Deffie for Best HD Documentary Film, The HDFEST Deffie for Best Cinematography in an HD Documentary and The HDFEST Deffie for Best Short HD Documentary.
